Jared and I also got our carve on this year with a sweet set of tools from Auntie Becky. Jared carved the football looking face and the frankenstein and I carved Ellie a Minnie Mouse pumpkin. These were lots of work because the pumpkins must have been a good 2 inches thick.

Halloween
We had a great Halloween this year! Ellie was the cutest little lady bug - courtsey of my mom's handiwork and Ry was a little monster. We trick or treated at my office and Ellie made quite the haul, including a mini can of root beer and some Minnie Mouse cheese puffs. That night we stayed home and handed out candy to all the cute kiddos that came by - which was a lot more than we saw last year. Our friends, Armando and Kandi came over for lasagna and Kandi brought 'bones' - dinner rolls shaped like bones to go with our blood (lasagna). Having blood (spaghetti) and bones (rolls) has been a tradition in her family for a long time so it was fun to share that with them.

Growth Ruler
I'm pretty excited about this growth ruler that I made for the kids. I found the instructions for this online through Pinterest. It only took me a few hours to do over a couple of days. And best of all - it cost maybe $25 bucks.
WSU vs. Cal
Just catching up on a few old posts! A couple weeks ago Jared headed to his Aunt Sherry's for deer hunting. The kids and I had a great weekend hanging out with my parents and we headed to Pullman to watch the Cal game. It was super late - 7:30 kick off, which is almost impossible with two small kids. But we had fun anyways!
As promised from a post early in the season, here's part of the stadium light up at night!
Ellie had fun wearing Tony's funny cougar beanie! It was pretty cute!

Ryan is 8 Months Old
Ryan is another month older! He's still got no teeth - poor guy. But he does really well guming his food in between his gums.
He's not quite crawling yet, but oh so close. If he wants to move towards something, he bounces on his butt. Almost like Ellie's butt scoot, but more like a hop. He can then lean over his legs to the point where he's up on all fours to reach it, but either goes back to his butt or falls over onto his stomach and rolls over to his back. He still hates being on his belly, so when he starts crawling it will be from a sitting position.
He's also starting to talk! He said 'dada' the other day and Jared thought it was a fluke, until he prompted him and he said it again. Our daycare provider confirmed it too! I'm not surprised he's an early talker with as much jabbering as he does - like Ellie used to.

Green Bluff - Pumpkin Patch
We went back to Green Bluff this weekend, but this time to Knapp's to get our pumpkins. Becky and the boys, my mom and dad, and us headed out mid morning - best decision ever, we beat the crowds!
Ry picked a big, fat, squatty pumpkin - kinda like him.
Ellie picked a taller, skinny pumpkin - kinda like her.
Case and Ellie hanging out in the wagon - best buds.
Family pic!
Ry loved sitting in the pumpkin wagon.

Green Bluff - Apple Pickin'
Last weekend was the last few days of Green Bluff's Apple Festival. It's offically fall outside - brisk if not cold in the morning and a little warm in the afternoon. We went to our favorite farm - Walter's Fruit Ranch, but then also hit up two new farms for us. Seimer's and Harvest House. Probably won't be going to Seimer's again - they had a lot of fun activities for kids, but all of it cost money and not like a little, actually quite a bit! Harvest House had a lot of activities going on. They had a play area too that cost, but had a lot of other vendors, food, a more lively band, etc.
Looking forward to pumpkin pickin this weekend!
Ryan is 7 Months!
Mister man is 7 months! He still likes food. He still likes milk. He has begun to express his preference for mom over the bottle. Still no teeth. Learning to support his own weight by holding on to furniture. He will be moving from his infant carset this weekend into a rear-facing convertible car seat because he has surpassed the weight limit on his carseat. He cries way more than Ellie ever did, generally because he's peeved about something (not getting food fast enough, tired, mad about having to take a nap/go to sleep) - Cryin' Ryan is his nickname from daddy. Silly boy.
