Easter
We had a wonderful Easter in Moses Lake. Ellie enjoyed her Easter basket - clothes, candy and a purse what more could a little girl ask for? She also had a blast at Grandma and Grandpa Beierman's playing with Deegan, Carter, Case and Brayden. Even though she was the only girl she kept up with the boys...playing in the dirt, rocks, and it was all good til she got a cobweb on her hand. The the tears started.

Daddy's Birthday
Little Miss Gabby
Ellie is such a talker. It seems so normal to me that she talks so much, until I play with other babies her age and realize that she is leaps and bounds ahead in this area. So I started thinking, how many words can she say clearly and regularly in context? The answer is at least 2 dozen. And this doesn't include the ones I can't remember!
- bath
- no
- juice
- cheese
- duck (this is her favorite)
- more
- baby
- up
- egg
- ice (another favorite and used for water)
- night night
- hi
- bye bye
- eye
- nose
- mouth
- ear
- shoes
- sock
- button (as in belly button)
- Barbie
- book
- blanket
- Nana
- Mommy
- Mama
- Dada
- Ashley
- Abbie
- Pop Pop
- TT (Teresa)
So it gets better - this weekend she was playing at the front door of my parents. She repeated "door, door" and then all of a sudden clear as day she says "Open the door". Literally my mom and my mouths hit the ground and then we mouthed it to each other to verify that both of us heard her correctly. Then Sunday at Jared's parents she was sitting on the floor with Ashley and she handed Ashley a piece of candy and says "Open this." What is happening to my baby?!?!

Wagon Ride
Friday was Jared's PE exam - we are all sooo glad he is done with the studying! Now just to wait 6-8 weeks for the results...BOO! In celebration of his freedom from studying, we had friends and family over for a tostada feed and the first slushy margaritas of the season. It was a beautiful day to add to it all!
Jared pulled out the wagon and gave the kids a ride. They really seemed to enjoy it. Except Carter, he wanted to help push instead of riding. Which turned into him being dragged behind it...and he loved it.

Learning to Color
We've been working with Ellie on coloring. We've tried crayons, pens, finger paints (which she particularly hated) - but in general she prefers markers. She doesn't have to push too hard on them to make a lot of color like crayons. The other day while Jared had his study materials out she wanted to color with pencil. Since that isn't too much fun colorwise I pulled out the markers. She did really good, and made sure that she colored on every single piece of paper - and her mouth. Good thing they are non-toxic. :)

Helping herself
This is another old one. One day while cleaning/cooking, Ellie helped herself to the pantry. She pulled out a couple of items (I think it was Teddy Grahams and dried fruit)I gave her a few and put them away. Finally she found the goldfish. Unfortunately, I was too slow to grab those from her and she dumped them all over the floor...and then ate, and ate, and ate.....She looks pretty proud of herself huh?

Silly Ellie
This weekend we had lots of mommy-Ellie time since Jared is still studing for his PE. We went all over town Saturday and on Sunday since Jared went into the office we hung out at home. Ellie decided she's a big girl and can hold my Starbucks cup and drink out of the straw (really well).

She also decided to make good use of her cup holders in the Cozy Coupe.

And while mindlessly meandering throughout the house, she determined it was time to go somewhere, put on her jacket and attempted to put on her shoes. What a big girl.

Kirk's 30th Birthday and Ellie's Weekend in ML
I know - I've been a bad blogger. Here I thought I was off to a great start for March and then FAIL! It was a busy month though!
The last weekend in March marked our friend, Kirk's 30th Birthday! His wife, Jennifer planned this big trip to Woodinville for a wine/beer/distillery tasting! Unfortunately, Jared couldn't/didn't want to go - beings that he's in prime study time for his PE exam (this Friday is the test). So, I headed over to the Westside with girlfriends and Ellie got to stay in ML with Nana and Grandpa. It was a long weekend for all of us, since this was the first entire weekend Ellie had been away from us (or the reverse). I had a rough go without her and she had a rough weekend too (not sure if it was just the teething - 4 k9's coming in all at once, or that she missed us). Either way, we all had fun.
These are some of the pictures that everyone in ML was nice enough to send while I was in Seattle.

Here are some pictures of the birthday boy, some yummy coffee that I had, and the Freemont Troll. Oddly enough, I never saw the troll while living in Seattle - fun to be a tourist.
