Little Miss Gabby

Ellie is such a talker. It seems so normal to me that she talks so much, until I play with other babies her age and realize that she is leaps and bounds ahead in this area. So I started thinking, how many words can she say clearly and regularly in context? The answer is at least 2 dozen. And this doesn't include the ones I can't remember!

  • bath

  • no

  • juice

  • cheese

  • duck (this is her favorite)

  • more

  • baby

  • up

  • egg

  • ice (another favorite and used for water)

  • night night

  • hi

  • bye bye

  • eye

  • nose

  • mouth

  • ear

  • shoes

  • sock

  • button (as in belly button)

  • Barbie

  • book

  • blanket

  • Nana

  • Mommy

  • Mama

  • Dada

  • Ashley

  • Abbie

  • Pop Pop

  • TT (Teresa)

So it gets better - this weekend she was playing at the front door of my parents. She repeated "door, door" and then all of a sudden clear as day she says "Open the door". Literally my mom and my mouths hit the ground and then we mouthed it to each other to verify that both of us heard her correctly. Then Sunday at Jared's parents she was sitting on the floor with Ashley and she handed Ashley a piece of candy and says "Open this." What is happening to my baby?!?!
